Ms. Teri Davis Selected to Attend the Science P.L.U.S Institute

We are pleased to announce that one of our teachers from Midway Elementary School was selected to attend the 2014 Science P.L.U.S. Institute at Roper Mountain Science Center this summer.  The Institute, 100% funded by a South Carolina Education Improvement Act (EIA) grant, gives intensive training in science teaching methods and activities to public school science teachers from throughout the State of South Carolina.  The Institute emphasizes the Center's belief that all students deserve a good science education.

A major goal of the Science P.L.U.S. Institute is to provide teachers the resources needed to do hands-on science activities with their students. Each participant receives science materials and supplies to duplicate lessons learned.  Ms. Davis currently serves as our Science Lab Instructor.

eChalk Parent Accounts

Parents of elementary school students can register for an eChalk Parent Account at http://mdw.kcsdschools.com/parents/register.  (All parents must create a new account for the 2013-14 School Year.)

Middle & high school students require a District ID number, which you will receive in a letter from the school that will be sent home soon.  This information will allow parents to access the student's homework schedule and view class pages directly.

Additional information on eChalk Parent Accounts - including a video walk-through - are available on the district website at www.kershaw.k12.sc.us/district/instruction/echalk.

Midway's Mission

Midway will empower our students to achieve excellence by developing confident, life-long learners.

From the Principal

What a great time we have had this week of celebrations from 4k to 5th grade!  Our kindergarteners travelled to the zoo for a “being there” experience yesterday.  We all enjoyed Field Day activities.  Ms. Hall’s class traveled to Camden Military Academy for the yearly Special Olympics Games.  Our 4k, 5k,  1st and 2nd grade classes enjoyed egg hunt activities.  Thanks to Mr. Lee, our PE teacher, other staff members, and our parent volunteers for assisting with activities from hiding eggs to dipping up sno cones.
